You are currently on the bluffs of the beautiful Missouri River. Our bluffs are one hundred feet high and filled with one hundred year old cottonwood trees. As you look south from the top of the bluff, you will see riverbanks in the distance. You are seeing the northern border of Calontir.

Our farmstead is known as Wayside Farm. It was named for being a place a traveler could stop by the wayside. It has been in the Ufford family for five generations, was one of the first to have electricity in the county, and was one of the first to have telephone communications. It has been the home to dairy cows, pigs, sheep, horses, hogs, ducks and cats. Currently, it is a working farm home to dairy cattle, horses, cats and one hog (we don't count squirrels and raccoons).

The schoolhouse was Fairview School #6, built in 1914. If you are lucky enough to enjoy the view from the cupola, you will find the initials of many an adventurous Ufford boy who escaped the view of the schoolmaster during recess.

We are pleased that you are joining us this weekend and welcome you to ask any questions of our family of the history of the beautiful farm. If you have any needs, please let Alex know, or stop by the schoolhouse and Lydia will be happy to assist you.
