University Senate

The University Senate is comprised of elected members of the faculty, the Academic Vice President, and two student representatives.  The general powers of the University Senate include exercising on behalf of the faculty all the powers vested in the faculty by The University of South Dakota Faculty Constitution and adopting bylaws and reporting changes in the bylaws to the faculty.
