Senate Committees
Senate committees are elected bodies
comprised of university faculty and administrators whose
responsibilities and membership are articulated in the
University Senate Bylaws. In addition to their specific
responsibilities, each of the Senate committees listed below generally
shall be responsible for the following:

Meet at least once
a year.
Elect a
chairperson and report his/her name to the Senate chairperson by
October 15.
Hold all meetings
open to the public, unless the committee decides an executive
session is necessary to protect personal rights of privacy.
Keep adequate
records of committee business including, but not limited to, minutes
of each meeting.
Submit at least an
annual report of its activities to the University Senate.
Make decisions
subject to appeal to the University Senate.
Makes its own
bylaws including, but not limited to, appointment of advisory
members.
