Poetry slams. A literary magazine. An annual 3-hour short story contest in a computer lab. Project Podcast. A community writers' group. A youth writing camp. A poetry festival. . . . hey, don't you want to get involved?

The Vermillion Literary Project is an award-winning student organization that publishes a literary magazine and promotes all sorts of literary events, for both the university community and the general public. VLP membership is open to University of South Dakota students of all majors, undergraduate or graduate. No experience is required, and you can choose what you want to do, from being on the editorial staff of the magazine to designing posters for our poetry slams, from hosting the radio show to planning a brand new activity we've never done before! Contact us at mremund@usd.edu to find out when the next VLP meeting will be held.

If you're a writer or are simply interested in the local literary scene--whether you're a student at the U. or not--we invite you to explore our web site. The majority of our events are open to the general public, as we believe strongly in promoting all things literary in our local community, the region, and beyond.
