About Vermillion, South Dakota...

Located on a bluff overlooking the Missouri River near where the Lewis & Clark expedition camped in 1804, Vermillion is a small Midwestern college town of 10,000 people.

Students and residents delight in the clean, fresh air of four distinct seasons, walk safely at night along tree-lined streets, eat in several fine restaurants, and interact in the friendly, informal way typical of life on the Great Plains.

The public schools and local medical services are excellent and recreational opportunities are abundant. In addition to the local parks, bike paths, and indoor facilities of the Dakota Dome, Lewis & Clark Lake, a half-hour's drive west, offers superb beaches, boating, camping, and hiking. Shopping opportunities abound in nearby Sioux Falls, along with excellent airline connections. Opera Omaha, the Omaha Symphony, and the Joslyn Art Museum are but a two-hour drive.
