Engraved vertically, on right side of bell: (script) N^o 31699 / Saxophone Soprano en Si b / Adolphe Sax F^teur Breveté / de la M^son Mil^re de l[’]Empereur / 50, rue S^t Georges à Paris / [AS monogram]; stamped vertically, below AS monogram: HB. Straight, one-piece brass body. Later clear lacquer. Fingered range: low B-natural to high E-flat. Dual octave keys. No touchpieces or rollers on E-flat, low C, G-sharp, low C-sharp, or low B keys. Length: 579 mm. Bell diameter: 68 mm. Ex colls.:  Hewitt A. Waggener, Los Angeles (purchased in 1923); Cecil Leeson, Muncie, Indiana. Transfer from Ball State University, 1994.
