Description

One of the features of the Graese Gallery is the exhibit of instruments used during the American Civil War, including NMM 2866, snare drum by Eli Brown, Windsor or Bloomfield, Connecticut, ca. 1835. Board of Trustees, 1981; NMM 2814, snare drum by Henry William Raphael Eisenbrandt, Baltimore, ca. 1860. Board of Trustees, 1981; NMM 2882, over-the-shoulder cornet in B-flat by Klemm & Brothers, Philadelphia, ca. 1862. Board of Trustees, 1981; and, NMM 2258, cornet in E-flat by John F. Stratton, New York, after 1860. Arne B. Larson Collection, 1979.
