Two Monzani "Tenor" Flutes
Monzani's "tenor" flutes are essentially flauti d'amore that play a major
third lower than the ordinary concert flute.

Monzani used
the letter "B" to designate his tenor flute, essentially a flauto
d'amore
that plays a major third lower than the ordinary concert flute. For
further discussion see Kreitzer p. 148. No number. Stained boxwood,
ivory ferrules. Graduated, ivory screw-cap. Patented key system, 1807.
Five silver keys in integral wood mounts. Closed keys: c'', B-flat,
G-sharp, short F, D-sharp. Lowest note d'. Total length, 761.5 mm.
