NMM 4709. Flute in C (high pitch) by C. G. Conn, Elkhart, ca. 1894-1895. Serial no. 887. Howe Wonder model. Boehm system, closed hole, C foot. Three sections. Engraved on socket: HOWE MODEL / - MADE BY - / C. G. CONN / ELKHART / - IND. -; stamped on body below socket and under G-sharp key: 887. Silver plated. Sixteen gold-plated keys. Ebonite head joint, crutch, and index-finger rest piece with mother-of-pearl dot; silver-plated embouchure plate with floral engraving; and, gold-plated end cap and head-joint sleeve. Closed G-sharp key; G trill key; B trill key; no B-flat lever. Total length, 26" (660 mm). Arne B. Larson Estate, 1989.
