The smaller section with the mouthpiece is connected at the top to the long section (68.3"), which the player holds. Board of Trustees, 2003.

The fujara is held vertically by the player at the lower part of the main pipe, where there are three widely spaced fingerholes.

Pavol Smutný, whose fujaras are used by professional fujara players, says, "I tune fujara by my heart and then she, in turn, heals and brings peace."
