SUMMER EXPLORER SERIES
For Students Entering the Fourth Through Sixth Grade
|
Star Wars!
WHAT: Each summer, the
NMM offers a series of programs that are designed to introduce
children to the instruments in the collections in a fun and meaningful
way. Children will be able to examine closely several artifacts and put them into an historical context that will be meaningful to their everyday lives. They will learn some different things and have fun in the process! If your children participated in the series in the past, you can be assured that different instruments will be examined and new projects will be explored.
This year, the children will take a musical journey through time and space. They will explore the musical instrument wars from distant and future times, discover mysterious battles and find out which music making machines won. They will make, name, and take home their own musical instrument droid.
