This is a call for papers for the 12th Annual Meeting of the Great Plains Political Science Association. The Great Plains Political Science Association was created in 1997 to promote the study of political science and public affairs. The Association has been particularly interested in supporting academic study of these topics and does so through its annual conference that serves as a forum for both faculty and student presentations, faculty development and public affairs workshops.
In the past, the Association has held its conference in the spring of each year. This year will mark a change in the timing of the conference as it will now be held in early fall. The 12th Annual Meeting will be held at the Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, IA on October 17, 2009 (Saturday).
The keynote speaker at the conference is Dr. Dale Hersping, a University Distinguished Professor at Kansas State University, whose research focuses on civil-military relations.
The Association invites papers on a broad range of political science and public administration research.
Student papers submitted in advance of the conference will be eligible to compete for the GPPSA Best Undergraduate Student Paper Award ($50 prize) and Best Graduate Student Paper Award ($50 prize).
