About the Dakota Writing Project
If you're a teacher of writing or if you want to find ways to incorporate writing into the subjects you teach, this is a good site for you to explore. School administrators, you may be interested too!

The Dakota Writing Project (DWP) is one of about 200 sites affiliated with The National Writing Project (NWP), "a collaborative university/school professional development program to improve the teaching and learning of writing in the nation's classrooms." Like NWP, DWP is dedicated to improving the teaching of writing in all disciplines from kindergarten through college.

An Invitation to Teachers. Teachers in all disciplines, kindergarten through college, are invited to apply for the DWP's Invitational Summer Institute. Write to your heart's content and share ideas about writing and the teaching of writing with other outstanding teachers.
Attention, Administrators (and Teachers). The best way to improve your students' writing is to start with teachers. Learn how DWP can design professional development sessions to meet your school's needs.
DWP Newsletter. Keep informed on current happenings of the Dakota Writing Project and read professional articles and other writings by DWP teachers.
Past DWP Summer Institutes. Web pages created for past DWP summer institutes, workshops, and other events tell you a little bit about us, our love of writing, and the sincerity of our motto, "Teachers Teaching Teachers."
