USD ACM High School Programming Contest

The 29th Annual University of South Dakota/Association for Computing Machinery High School Programming Contest will be held at the USD campus in Vermillion on April 2, 2009.

In the contest, teams design and implement solutions to a set of problems using Visual Basic, Java, C++, or C#. If you would like to work with a different language, please call the Computer Science Department at 605-677-5388. Sample problems are available in the past contests section of this site.

Contest winners will receive a variety of fabulous prizes. Smart Software Solutions, Inc. is offering a $1000 scholarship on a competitive basis to the contest participants. Chenega Logistics is also providing prizes for the three winning teams as well as door prizes.

While teams are competing, coaches will have the opportunity to see a presentation by Clint Rutkas, a member of the Microsoft Academic Relations team, on some of the latest hardware and software innovations. He will also provide some prizes to participating students and free MSDNAA accounts for participating schools.

Teams must register by Wednesday, March 18, 2009. You can either mail in the registration sent to your school or register online here. An entry fee of $30 per team will be required at registration on the day of the contest. Lunch will be provided to all participants and coaches.
